Undoubtedly the toughest test to club golfers, the Wood Course measures 3,157 yards from the back tees. Mature trees create a natural challenge, with the par 4 11th, the course's signature hole, being a testing dog-leg left. Your tee shot falls into a chasm, leaving an awkward pitch across water to the green. It's not a hole for the faint-hearted!
The Lakes Course is a nerve tester due to the number of water hazards that give the nine-holer its name. Five of the holes are punctuated by water, the 21st being a particularly tricky and long par 3 that requires concentration and no little skill. Only an accurate long iron will do to hit a well-guarded green.
Regarded as the least demanding nine of the three loops, the Park Course still offers a pleasant test to all golfers. Its undoubted highlight is the downhill par 4 9th hole which requires an accurate long iron off the tee and a solid pitch into a green well protected by two lakes. For the brave, a 270-yard carry over the water to the green is tempting....
But it's not just the golf courses that make Sandford Springs such a great place to visit.
The forward-thinking club's Golf Academy is a hit with golfers of all standards, from beginners who wish to take up the game, get established with a good technique and get their handicaps down to the seasoned player who needs a little help to shave those extra couple of shots off their score.
The Academy offers members an undercover driving range, practice bunker, chipping area and practice putting green; all first-rate facilities professionally managed by The Cranfield Golf academy - owned by leading golf trainer Scott Cranfield.
Away from the golf course, Sandford Springs is an ideal venue for that essential meeting or for pleasure.
Rosamunds Restaurant offers fine dining with lovely views of the picturesque lakes and the surrounding countryside and is the ideal setting in which to relax with friends or entertain business colleagues and clients.
