The Oxfordshire

Renewable energy has been a key part of The Oxfordshire’s progression strategy. A 226kWh solar plant installation was completed in November 2019, which now generates up to 25% of the total consumption annually, meaning much less reliance on grid power. The Heat Exchange Project which uses geothermal energy from the lake on the course, now impressively supplies most of the hot and cold air supply to the Clubhouse and preheats a significant proportion of the hot water requirements for the property, with the aim to produce 100% of the hot water and heating generation in the next 12-18 months.

The Oxfordshire

Dale Hill

A block of 15 new spacious and modern bedrooms featuring solar panels were completed in 2018, these have superb views of the course and surrounding countryside. As part of the build process, a ground source heat pump was put in place which provides air heating and cooling, in addition to water heating. The solar panels provide electricity to the entirety of the building.

Dale Hill are investing in a program of converting all existing light fittings into new LED light fittings throughout the building. All pipework has been insulated as far as possible. A new insulated roof created in our Orangery replacing the Old Conservatory roof, keeping the room warm in winter and cool in the summer. A borehole was invested in in 2018 to irrigate our golf courses, ensuring we were no longer reliant on mains water. A fleet of new 36 buggies was invested in in 2021 which are all powered on lithium power, which can operate for more rounds of golf between charges.

Dale Hill Golf & Hotel

Sandford Springs

Similarly to both Dale Hill & The Oxfordshire, renewable energy has been a priority at Sandford Springs. 36 solar panels have been mounted to the roof of the hotel. Today the solar panels are generating over 27.5 MWh of renewable energy a year, this is equivalent to the power consumed by more than five detached houses, while saving over 14 tonnes of carbon annually.
