WOMEN INTO GOLF 2025

This year our Lady Golfers introduced a new initiative at Sandford Springs aimed at encouraging more women to get into golf.

The carefully designed programme offered a relaxed, supportive environment where beginners could build confidence and improve their game.

After a great response to the April four-week course, we are excited that they will be adding more dates later this year.

"My name is Bev Bonner and I am the Ladies’ Captain here at Sandford Springs Golf Club. I have been a member for 17 years now, first as a weekend golfer as I was still working.

‘Put your name down for everything’ I was told, sound advice as I met so many friendly people, plus it provided lots of golfing opportunities.

The ladies play a big part in the club, represented by the Lady Captain and Lady Vice Captain at all club committee meetings."

LADIES DAY

"The Ladies section at Sandford Springs Golf Club is a very active part of the club and golfers of all abilities are welcome to join.

Ladies’ day is a Tuesday when most ladies will come and play throughout the year.

New ladies are encouraged to join in with other lady members and become more involved with our section.

There is always plenty of opportunity to play golf at Sandford Springs as the course never closes, except for fog, snow and Christmas Day!

Tee times are easy to book via Intelligent Golf or the Pro-Shop."

COMPETITIONS

"As Lady Captain I am supported by a strong committee, who work hard arranging competitions, friendly matches, inter club matches and all aspects of running the ladies’ section.

Sandford Springs Golf Club compete in county competitions and have recently won the coveted Hampshire Ladies Golf Stoneham Cup.

Our ladies represent Sandford Springs Golf Club in most of the HLG annual competitions, bringing home prize money on a regular basis.

We hold our Club Championship every July, plus for the higher handicappers we have a Bronze Championship, held in the same week."

FUNDRAISING

"Once a year in the spring we hold a ladies charity coffee morning, with the aim of raising funds for our Captains’ charities, bringing visiting ladies to play our stunning course."
