"My name is Trish Wood and I am the Ladies’ Captain here at Sandford Springs Golf Club.

I have been a member for a number of years now. At first, I was only able to play weekends as I was still working but now, I play 3 or 4 times a week in social golf, friendly matches and league matches.

The ladies section plays a big part in the club, represented by the Lady Captain and the committee.

There is always lots of opportunity to play golf at Sandford Springs either social, in competitions and matches."

2026 Chosen Charity

"Each year the Lady Captain supports a charity and this year my chosen Charity is Alzheimer’s Research UK.

I will be holding several events during the year to raise funds for this worthy cause."

COMPETITIONS

"Playing in matches is a great way to meet new lady golfers and you also get to play at many different clubs.

The ladies play a big part in the club, represented by the Lady Captain and Lady Vice Captain at all club committee meetings."

WOMEN INTO GOLF

"The Women into Golf Initiative is championed by several members of the ladies section.

We run beginner tester sessions with a follow on 4-week course aimed at beginners.

This was extremely successful in 2025 resulting in our ladies membership being increased by 10%.

This initiative will run again in April 2026."
